A Bali visa is an Indonesian entry visa: Bali is part of Indonesia. The category depends on your passport nationality, travel purpose and intended stay. Visa on arrival is not available to every Arab nationality. Bali’s tourist levy is separate from visa charges. Start with our Indonesia visa service to review the appropriate route.
Before booking: check passport eligibility
Check the official visa-on-arrival eligibility list. If your nationality is listed, review VOA or e-VOA requirements. Otherwise, identify an appropriate visa before travel. Residence in a Gulf country does not automatically make an ineligible passport eligible.
VOA and e-VOA
VOA is obtained at an authorised arrival point; e-VOA is applied for through the official immigration portal. Both depend on passport eligibility and category requirements. Other electronic visa categories also exist.
The official B1 page lists an initial stay of up to 30 days, one extension up to 60 days in total, and a visa fee of IDR 500,000. Check passport validity, onward travel documents and current conditions. Entry validity and permitted stay are different.
Bali tourist levy and other costs
The Bali provincial government identifies a foreign tourist levy of IDR 150,000. Visa fees, this levy, extension charges and any agent service fees are separate items. Exchange rates vary; a fixed dollar total should not be presented as a government charge.
Review the official levy exemptions and the Love Bali portal. Some residence permit holders and other categories may qualify under the applicable conditions. Do not assume every visitor pays the same amount.
Preparing for your trip
- Identify the purpose: tourism, meetings, work and residence require different consideration. Select a category matching your actual activity.
- Review eligibility and documents: check the passport, ticket and official category checklist. Verify names and details before payment.
- Use the relevant portal: when using an online visa route, apply through eVisa and retain your visa and payment receipt.
- Review arrival declarations: check All Indonesia. The ministry announced nationwide arrival declarations from 1 October 2025. The declaration does not replace a visa.
- Check the Bali levy: use Love Bali to confirm payment or exemption requirements and retain the relevant evidence.
- Track the end of your stay: extensions are not automatic. Review the process and timing before permission expires.
Frequently asked questions
Does a tourist visa permit work?
Do not treat a visit visa as work authorisation. If your purpose is residence linked to employment, investment or family, review KITAS options.
Must I incorporate a company to visit Bali?
The visit purpose determines the route. If you plan a business project, review PT PMA company formation separately from travel arrangements.
Is approval or admission guaranteed?
No. Approval and admission depend on the relevant authorities and fulfilment of requirements. Procedural assistance does not guarantee an outcome.
